Third matchday in the preliminary round of the Champions League: Bayern Munich meets FC Brugge in the home arena from 9 p.m. The German record champions are the clear favorites against the Belgian outsiders and want to get their third win in the third game.
The second German representative on Wednesday evening has a harder time: Eintracht Frankfurt welcomes the English champions FC Liverpool around national player Florian Wirtz – a Herculean task. Striker Hugo Ekitiké is set to return after moving to the Reds in the summer.
Champions League live on Dazn and Amazon Prime
The rights for the Champions League belong to Dazn and Amazon Prime. Dazn broadcasts most of the games, and selected individual games with German participation are shown on Amazon Prime. ZDF shows summaries of the entire match day on Wednesdays from 11 p.m. The ZDF highlight show also runs as a stream on Joyn.
The Champions League mode: The preliminary round will be held in a league with 36 teams. Each team plays eight games against eight different opponents. The top eight in the table move straight into the round of 16. Places 9 to 16 play against places 17 to 24 in a play-off round to advance. Places 25 to 36 are eliminated and will not continue to play in the Europa League or Conference Legaue.
