Prometheus School Ignites Future Champions at ISSO Table Tennis & Badminton Tournament
Noida, India – The air crackled with the energy of young athletes as Prometheus School, Noida, recently hosted the 7th edition of the International school Sports Association (ISSO) Table Tennis and Badminton Tournament 2025-26.This prestigious event saw over 750 students from more than 119 international schools across India converge on world-class facilities, showcasing a thrilling display of skill, sportsmanship, and the burgeoning talent that could one day grace Olympic courts.
For four electrifying days, from october 11th to 14th, the Prometheus School campus transformed into a hub of intense competition. The tournament, a vibrant testament to the spirit of international school sports, drew over 320 participants to the table tennis arenas and a formidable 400 to the badminton courts.
The stage for this grand spectacle was Prometheus School’s state-of-the-art sporting complex,a facility that wouldn’t look out of place in any major U.S.collegiate athletic department. The badminton hall, boasting an remarkable 52-foot ceiling height and eight professional courts, provided the perfect surroundings for lightning-fast rallies and gravity-defying smashes. Meanwhile,the dedicated table tennis hall,equipped with 15 tables,buzzed with the rapid-fire exchanges that define the sport.
Beyond the tournament courts, the school’s commitment to athletic growth is evident in its comprehensive facilities. A 50-meter olympic-size all-weather swimming pool, a 10-meter shooting range, a gymnastics hall, and a dedicated sports hostel underscore Prometheus School’s ambition to cultivate future champions across a spectrum of disciplines.
The tournament culminated in a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony, an event graced by distinguished guests who brought a wealth of experience and inspiration to the young athletes. Among them were Ms. Medha Roopam, District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, who lauded the initiative; Padma Shri awardee and Olympian Mr. Achanta Sharath Kamal, a legend in the table tennis world; and Indian para-badminton player and Paris 2024 Paralympian Mr. tarun Dhillon.
ms. The Under-19 Girls Table Tennis Team, comprising Jetashri, Parnika, and Plaksha, clinched the first-place trophy, a testament to their dedication and teamwork.Jetashri Rathore and Yashvasin Bolishetty were recognized with Best Player awards in their respective categories,highlighting their individual brilliance. In badminton,Nysa Wadhwa’s qualification for the SGFI Nationals in the under-14 category signals a radiant future for this young talent.
Other notable schools that demonstrated strong performances included Indus International School, Inventure Academy, Dhirubhai Ambani International School, B.D. Somani International School, and JPIS Jaipur, underscoring the high level of competition across the participating institutions.
