RSC Anderlecht parted ways with Brian Riemer in September 2024. Criticism of the Dane had become untenable. In hindsight, this decision ultimately turned out to be positive for the coach as well.
It can be said without exaggeration that Brian Riemer did not experience his greatest successes at the head of RSC Anderlecht. The Dane came close to winning the title, but his philosophy and style of play attracted strong criticism.
In the meantime, Riemer became Denmark coach. And we must admit: everything is going wonderfully for him in his native country.
On the road to World Cup qualification
Denmark is on track to qualify for next summer’s World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The nation leads its group with ten points out of twelve.
According to Danish media, these results make Riemer a highly sought-after coach. He would be followed by several English clubs, a championship he already knows well.
Extension or return to England?
The Danish Football Federation wants to react quickly and offer him a contract extension until Euro 2028. Riemer, for his part, still prefers to wait a little before making a decision… probably until after the World Cup.
