A 29-year-old football coach who was also a supervisor in a college in Charente-Maritime has just been placed in pre-trial detention. He is prosecuted for several facts of rape, sexual assault and corruption of minors. The investigating chamber of the Poitiers Court of Appeal in fact reached the decision taken in La Rochelle on September 19 which placed it under judicial supervision.
Photos bare to a college student
The survey started with a complaint filed with the Marans gendarmerie. A minor explained that the supervisor of his college, with whom he had been exchanging on Snapchat for a long time, had asked him naked photos and had sent him in return, especially his erect sex. Very quickly, the investigation extended within the football club in which the education assistant was also employed as a service provider.
Poitevin magistrates, during their presentation of the file this Tuesday, September 30, spoke of a dozen potential victims now identified, young boys aged 9 to 17, who played both in college and in the football club. They tell touching but also rapes, rape attempts, sexual assaults and exchanges of bare photos and sexual videos. Some episodes would have taken place in their family setting, while their coach was invited in a friendly context by their parents.
Confessions on three rapes
On requisition, the school and the club provided the authorities a list of minors with whom the man could be contact. There are 263 in the sports structure and undoubtedly much more in the college where he had been employed since 2021.
Since the start of the investigation, the educator has been laid down by the football club and has, according to his lawyer, of himself chosen not to renew his contract for an education assistant at the college.
