The couple was on vacation in France when Matovac began to feel unwell, an experience that rapidly escalated into a severe medical emergency.

“She began to feel unwell in France during our holidays,” Dahlin explained, his words carrying the weight of the ordeal. “Everything culminated in heart failure.”

The swift and decisive action of medical professionals and bystanders proved to be a turning point. “Fortunately, she was repeatedly provided with CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), up to several hours, in an effort to keep her alive, which saved her life,” Dahlin stated, emphasizing the immediate and vital role of resuscitation efforts.

Following the critical incident, Matovac was transported to a hospital and placed on life support devices before undergoing a triumphant heart transplant in France.The experience has profoundly impacted the couple, leading them to advocate for crucial health initiatives.
