Saying goodbye to Wouter Vandenhaute at Anderlecht continues to be hinding. For the first time, CEO Sports Tim Borguet spoke about the change of power within Purple & White.
According to Borget, the chapter has been closed for the time being. “I have not heard Wouter since the last board of directors,” it said in the HLN Football Podcast. In this way he makes it clear that the lines within the club have now been sharply defined.
New proportions
The sporty boss explained how the internal structure works today. “A football club has three bodies: the management, of which I am part, the board of directors and the shareholders. It has been decided on the last council that the management is reporting directly to the council for the time being. Clear agreements have been made about how often there is contact and about which matters.”
With that clarification, Borguet wants to pent the unrest after the departure of Vandenhaute. According to him, the continuity of the board is not up for discussion.
Transfer period under the microscope
Nevertheless, Borget admitted that there is still sporting work to be done. “We are close to the sales targets that we wanted to achieve, but we still drag a number of contracts that heavily weigh on the club,” he said. That the Mercato did not entirely brought what the Purple & White had hoped, is therefore still standing.
