The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, will be present at the opening ceremony of Football Summit 2025, on October 8, in the city of Football, in Oeiras, the organizers announced today.

“The inaugural session will also be attended by Aleksander Ceferin, president of UEFA, Pedro Proença, president of the Portuguese Football Federation, Isaltino Morais, Mayor of Oeiras, and Roberto Martínez, Portuguese coach, underlining the institutional and international relevance of the event”, reads in the announced statement.

The Portuguese team will also be present at the ceremony, at a time when it will be in a internship in the city of Football, preparing the meetings against the Republic of Ireland and Hungary, of qualification for the 2026 World Championship.

At the event, which will be held from October 8 to 11, are already confirmed, among others, the director’s participation for FIFA Jill Ellis football, with work in the development of women’s football, and the selectors Roberto Martínez (male) and Francisco Neto (female), former manager Nani and coach Paulo Fonseca.

Madjer and Ricardinho, former best players in the world of beach and futsal football, respectively, Spanish female futsal coach, Claudia Pons, David Steinkuhl, one of those responsible for Borussia Dortmund communication, and the Men’s Futsal coach, Marquinhos Xavier, are others present.
