GD – Madrid, 10 sets. 25 – On the occasion of the Italian sport day in the world, the Italian ambassador to Spain, Giuseppe Buccino Grimaldi, accompanied by the expert of the Guardia di Finanza, gen. B. Salvatore Russo, he received the athletes of the Judo team of the Yellow Flames in Madrid today in the Embassy of Italy.
The ambassador, after congratulating our Judoka for the excellent results obtained at the latest Olympic games, evoked the importance of sport as a factor of social aggregation, as well as sports diplomacy as an increasingly important tool for promoting Italy abroad.
During the meeting, the head of the coach app. sc. Antonio Ciano illustrated the various modalities of the Judo discipline and the sports activities in which the athletes participate in the ambassador, each in their own weight category in international competitions.
Also accompanied by the coach, app. Vincenzo D’Arco, the team visited the splendid representation halls of the Palazzo dei Marchesi of Amboage. They participated in the meeting: the financier chosen Alice Bellandi, Olympic champion in Paris 2024 and world champion in Budapest 2025 in the 78 kg category; The chosen financier assumed Scutto, world champion in Budapest 2025 in the 48 kg category; the Advanced Asia financier, absolute Italian champion in the 48 kg; The financier Tiziano Falcone, former silver medal at the absolute Italian championships for the 90 kg; the financier Alessandro Magnani, absolute Italian champion in the 73 kg; the financier Gaia Massimetti, world champion in the 52 kg; The pinned Elios Maria Manzi, former bronze medal at the European championships in the 66 kg; the financier Antonietta Palumbo, already an absolute Italian champion in the 70 kg; the financier Angelo Pantano, former Italian champion already in the 60 kg; the financier Kenya Perna, absolute Italian champion in the 52 kg; the financier chosen Lorenzo Rigano, absolute Italian champion in the 90 kg; the financier chosen Gabriele Sulli, former Italian champion already in the 73 kg; The financier Leonardo Valeriani, bronze at the Grand Slam of Tbilisi in the 73 kg.
