The Minnesota Wild, Kirill Kaprizov, a star wingman, refused to offer for a new eight -year contract worth $ 128 million. Frank Seravalli, a renowned insider, came up with this information on Wednesday.
Kaprizov would thus reject the highest contract in the history of the NHL, not only in terms of total value, but also in the average annual earnings that would be $ 16 million. By comparison, the current highest average salary in the league is the German star Edmonton Oilers Leon Draisaitl with $ 14 million.
Kaprizov may become an unlimited free player after the end of the upcoming season. From July 1, he was able to negotiate an extension of the contract, but the interviews with Wild have not yet made an agreement despite the fact that the team management is optimistic.
Last week, the owner of Minnesota Craig Leipold also commented on the whole situation, indicating that the agreement was approaching and at the same time predicted that Kapriz’s contract is likely to be the richest in the league history.
Twenty -eight -year -old Russian is one of the largest offensive aces of NHL. He came to the Wild team in the 2020/21 season and won Calder’s trophy for the best newcomer in the premiere season. Since then, he has scored an impressive 386 points in 319 matches.
He is currently the best-paid Minnesota player with Cap-Hito $ 9 million. Its current contract also contains a clause on the ban on exchange without its consent.
