So I preferred to take the step back to Antibes than to sit on the bench at the college,” says Perrin, who is followed by a regular season at first division Sluc Nancy. The big question about that is: Why does a top European talent, a future international, joins the towers and changes to a league at most?

“I don’t stand in my situation and say: The NBA and Euroleague are just waiting for me,” says Perrin and sounds ten years older again. The decision per Hamburg is a two -track. From a sporting point of view: “The club is a bit like me, we go step by step. The Towers play internationally what was important to me,” says the 2.08-meter man with the bleached curls and many tattoos.

However, the signature in Wilhelmsburg was at least as significant from a personal perspective. “I could have just done it and stay in Nancy, two hours away from home. But only through this change can I become more grown and more independent, my parents also advised me. I had to get out of my comfort zone, all French internationals did it that way,” says Perrin, who now lives in Harburger Hafencity.
His trainer confirms the early ripening of his newcomer. “Zac is outstanding as a person, a super young man,” says Barloschky, who describes Perrin as one of the best passers in his position in the Bundesliga. Captain and center colleague Benedikt Turudić took him directly under his wing. It is difficult to exist.

“I haven’t played with someone with so much potential for a long time. It is incredible fun to train with him because he takes on the hard work. He has the opportunity to take huge steps with us,” says Turudić.
That would sign Perrin directly. “This should be my breakthrough season. It is crucial for the further course of my career. I make a lot of concessions for this and only want to focus on basketball,” says Perrin. The only distraction he treats is PSG games. And maybe from time to time a visit to Café Paris.
