Pfungstadt (PM/Jah) – In Pfungstadt, the Hessian individual championship of men and women took place in judo on Sunday. Christian Krüger from the 1st Fuldaer Judo Club was also there – and for the local judoka, the tournament was very successful with second place.
Started in the weight class -66 kilograms, the HEM (Hessian single championship) for Krüger presented the most important tournament of the year -so compulsory program. However, the preparation was anything but optimal, since Krüger was still in use with his team TG Schwalbach in the second Bundesliga in Grafing near Munich. Nevertheless, Krüger managed to quickly focus on the current tournament: Julian Lerch from SF Blau-Gelb Marburg felt that quickly, Krüger won his special technology Seoi-Otoshi in just 30 seconds. In the subsequent fight against Albert Burmann from PSV Grün-Weiß Kassel, the Hessen Championship was already concerned: After an interesting fight, a little carelessness was immediately punished by Burmann-Ippon and thus the victory for Krüger’s opponents. Nevertheless, Krüger was happy about second place, after all, Burmann was fighting in the first Bundesliga. And Krüger’s statistics in six Hessian men’s championships, with two second and three third places in recent years.
