Coman Replaces Injured Dembélé & Goué in France Squad

The Blues could not stay at only 21 players to prepare for the reception of Iceland on Tuesday evening (8:45 pm) for the second match of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. Didier Deschamps therefore called on Kingsley Coman replacing the two Parisians, Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué who left Clairefontaine this Saturday morning. The two men were victims, against Ukraine (2-0) of muscle tears.

Touched with a calf and released at half-time from Ukraine-France on Friday evening, Désiré Doué will miss, according to our information, three to four weeks of competition. Despite the optimism of his coach Didier Deschamps, medical examinations of the Paris Saint-Germain attacking midfielder revealed a first not very reassuring diagnosis.

The former Rennais will therefore miss the call for the first meeting of the Champions League of the Capital Club, scheduled against the Atalanta Bergame at the Parc des Princes on September 17, as well as the Clasico against Marseille four days later at the Vélodrome stadium. He remains very uncertain for the displacement of his family on the lawn of FC Barcelona in early October.

Dembélé will be absent for six weeks. Coman, who joined the Al-Nassr club this summer in Saudi Arabia, is expected this Sunday in Clairefontaine.
