For Max Verstappen and Red Bull, the free training in Monza was positive. The Dutchman finished in the second practice session on P6, but gave little time to leader Lando Norris. As a result, Verstappen may have the chance to fight for the victory.
There were a lot of drivers who got off the track in Italy, causing gravel on the track. Verstappen is included in a response F1TV deeper up in.
“I think they will stop the qualification,” says Verstappen. “In the race it is more difficult. I had a round in my longrun in which someone went off and I was the first to arrive. To be honest it was like driving slicks in the rain.”
Verstappen was able to prevent a trip. “I almost went off myself, because there was so much gravel. We really have to look at it, because it is not easy to keep your car under control. If someone goes off and returns, it will also damage the floor of the other cars, because those stones are quite aggressive. We have to see what we can do.”
Then Ted Kravitz, the reporter of Sky Sports who interviews on behalf of F1TV Did, or Verstappen usually still do a word in Dutch. He wimpes the request. “I don’t know how to talk Dutch anymore!” Kravitz and Verstappen can laugh about it together.
