Celtic & Iheanacho: Board Failures & Unfair Criticism

The Celtic board is embarrassing, but so too is the uncalled treatment of Iheanacho…

Our hierarchy are currently in the firing line and quite rightly so as they are nothing short of a disgrace, and deserve every bit of criticism flying their way after yet another underwhelming and unprofessional transfer window.

The signing of Kelechi Iheanacho has added to that fury, and with good reason as his capture can only be described as one of sheer desperation, with it being the last straw for the fed up support who have been quick to write off the Nigerian before he’s even kicked a ball.

That’s fine as that’s football, where supporters are always quick to judge, and that’s therefore up to the player to prove the doubters wrong as I’m sure will be trying his hardest to do just that. However some of the insults that have been aimed in the direction of the player via social media have been nothing short of ridiculous.

Remarks over his weight, and other snide comments have been over the top to say the least, with some supporters even wishing him to fail as he embarks in his Celtic career.

Yes, the board are a shamble, but the same can be said of an element of our own support who seem to like nothing better than a pile on aimed at their latest whipping Bhoy. Perhaps Adam Idah being forced out the door has left a void for them that Kelechi Iheanacho conveniently fills?

It’s never been more important for the Celtic support to back the team and the manager. It’ going to be a tough old season ahead.

The Celtic Star has joined forces with other fan media outlets and supporters groups together with a long list of CSCs to put for answers to key questions from the Celtic Board.
