Juan Arango is undoubtedly one of the historical referents of Venezuelan football and considered by many the most important player in the country.
Arango had an outstanding career in European clubs such as Mallorca and Borussia Monchengladbachin addition to being one of the idols of the Venezuelan national team.
In the last hours, the former player has been the target of criticism for meeting with a benchmark of the Venezuelan regime along with another idol of the Vinotinto team.
Juan Arango next to Renny Vega were seen in the government office of Freddy Bernalwho currently serves as governor of the state of Táchira and is a Chavista reference friend of the Maduro regime.
Both players went to Bernal’s government office to talk about a sports project in the state, however, not even the social intention of their initiative has stopped the harsh criticism against him.
The meeting was made public for a post that the same politician made in his social networks announcing a sports project for the Táchira state.
“Nothing more and nothing less than I am with @Juan18arango and @rvegavzla, glories of Venezuelan football, talking about the wonderful camp that takes place in our entity for our generation of gold”, Wrote the Chavista politician in his social networks.
In the published audiovisual sections, both Vega and Arango are happy to participate in the meeting with the politician.
“Thanks to you for opening the doors of the Government and all of Táchira. We are very happy to be able to return to San Cristóbal again”Said Vega.
“I am proud to come here, we have always opened the doors we hope that in the coming weeks we can close the camp”Arango replied.
The harsh criticism did not wait since the meeting occurs in the midst of the US military deployment in the Caribbean feared by the Venezuelan regime. Many fans have interpreted that meeting as a wink of players to the regime in the midst of the political and social crisis that the country is experiencing.
“We already know why we never classify “;” That is why I will always say that the best player in the history of Venezuelan football is called Solomon “;” what amazing how an idol falls “; “Thanks for everything Juan, but was stained with blood,” were some of the fans’ comments.
It should be remembered that there are hard accusations and sanctions on Freddy Bernal from the United States. In 2011, the United States included the politician in the Clinton list and requested arrest warrant for allegedly facilitating weapons to the Colombian guerrillas of the FARC.
He has also been accused of undermining the electoral process in Venezuela and censoring media.
Even, in the middle of the incessant military deployment in the Caribbean by the United States against the Los Soles cartel, Bernal showed his support for Nicolás Maduro. “I prefer to die by your side than to live on your knee, because after God there is nothing to stop us,” he said in a military act weeks ago.
