The weeks passed, the pilots have recovered, and for the return of Formula 1 … it is still and always a McLaren which ends in first place. Starting in pole position in this Grand Prix of the Netherlands, Oscar Piastri was never worried and won his 9th race.
But the beautiful story of the day is the first podium won by Isack Hadjar behind the wheel of his Racing Bulls. His best performance in Formula 1. The advent of a 20 -year crack which, for his first season with the Cadors, impresses more and more. He is the youngest Frenchman in history to climb on a podium, the 5th youngest driver in history (20 years and 337 days).
Acclaimed by the public, Isack Hadjar shared his great satisfaction after this unforgettable race for him: “It seems unreal to me. What surprised me the most is being able to keep this 4th place. Of course, we took advantage of the puncture in front of us, but we made no mistakes. I am very happy with what I achieved. Go on the podium… I am so happy for my team. It has always been the goal since I was little. This is the first step, I hope that many other things will come. »»
Designated as the main threat to the McLaren, Max Verstappen started very hard at the start. If he almost missed in a turn, which would have done the business of Isack Hadjar, the Dutchman could stabilize his car, and confirm his canon departure by going beyond Lando Norris. However, the Red Bull driver was quick to see Norris exceed him.
But towards the end of the race, Norris had to abandon following a mechanical concern on his car which has let smoke escape. An incident that then allowed Hadjar to win 3rd position.
The whole for Lewis Hamilton
This year 2025 is also complicated for Lewis Hamilton and Ferrari. If it was legitimate to think that the break would do good to the seven -time world champion, the latter experienced a new mishap.
For the first time with the Scuderia, the Briton was forced to abandon in the 23rd round, following an exit of the track, causing a Safety Car. Touched by this misstep, Lewis Hamilton shared his regrets at the microphone of Canal +: “I had rhythm. It’s a shame to leave this race so early, it’s disappointing. I can’t wait to go home. »»
A catastrophic day for Ferrari
Unfortunately for Ferrari, the abandonment of Lewis Hamilton is not the only bad news of the day. While leaving the lane of the stands, Charles Leclerc was struck by the Mercedes of Kimi Antonelli. As a result of this, the Monegasque hit the protective barriers, and was forced to put an end to its race, therefore causing a double abandonment of Ferrari.
Largely at fault, Antonelli received 10 seconds of penalty. The race was marked by several clashes on the Zandvoort circuit. Before the incident, Leclerc has already experienced a first mishap with the Mercedes by George Russell, the two single -seaters clinging, without consequences.
Next meeting, the Italian Grand Prix, from September 7 in Monza.
