Tophavorit Serbia in the round of 16
Nikola Jokic towered over for the Serbs. Another NBA star cannot prevent defeat.

NBA superstar Nikola Jokic has brought gold favorite Serbia to the round of 16 of the Casketball European Championship. The 30-year-old scored 39 points out of 84:80 against Latvia in Riga, after the successes against Estonia (98:64) and Portugal (80:69) it was the third victory in the third game for the vice world champion in preliminary round group A.
The team of coach Svetislav Pesic, who had led Germany to the only European championship title to date in 1993, clearly beat Germany in preparation at the Supercup in Munich (91:81) and impressively confirms her favorite role for the Eurobasket. Other group opponents of the eight -time title winner are the Czech Republic and Turkey.
Slovenia is already under pressure after the second defeat. The team led by NBA superstar Luka Doncic lost 95:103, Doncic could not prevent the bankruptcy despite 39 points. The Slovenes are the bottom of Group D.
