The New York Yankees placed the Clarke Schmidt opening pitcher on the 15 -day injured list Friday for rigidity in your right forearm.
Schmidt, 29, underwent a magnetic resonance on Friday after being withdrawn from Thursday’s game in Toronto after three tickets. It allowed three races, four hits, two bases per ball and a punch in the defeat by 8-5.
The right hand has a 4-4 mark and an effectiveness of 3.32 in 14 openings. He has struck 73 batters and granted 30 bases per ball in 78 2/3 inputs.
Schmidt has a 23-24 mark with an effectiveness of 3.82 in 97 games of his career (67 openings) since he made his debut with the Yankees in 2020.
New York also amounted to the right pitcher Scott Effross and left-handed Jayvien Sandridge of Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The right pitcher Clayton Beeter was sent to Triple-A after Thursday’s defeat against the Blue Jays.
He is not happy for the situation
“Every time you get a resonance in the forearm, it’s not something that makes you happy”Schmidt said.
Schmidt revealed that he has been fighting rigidity in the right forearm since June 4 against Cleveland, which has hindered his recovery between openings.
The Yankees have tried to adapt to their recovery process, recently delaying their departure from June 28 against athletics for a day. In its previous opening, Schmidt matched a personal record with 103 launches in seven inputs without hits against the Orioles on June 21.
That day, the manager Aaron Boone said he would not allow Schmidt to try to get the last six outs to complete a possible game without hit or career. Thursday’s early departure showed why the Yankees insisted on acting with caution.
