The Real cavalry teacher From Seville on Monday at noon, the trophy delivery act of the 39th hook exhibition of the Seville Fair, an event that has gathered authorities, participants and fans around one of the most unique and admired traditions of the Sevillian spring.
The act has been attended by the Lieutenant of older brother of the Real Maestranza de Cavalía, Santiago de León and Domecq; the general secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Manuel Gómez Galera; the delegate of Tourism, Culture and Sports in Seville, Carmen Ortiz Laynez; the Delegate of Major Fiestas of the City of Seville, Manuel Alés; the president of the Caja Rural del Sur Foundation, José Luis García Palacios; and the president of the Royal Club of Hooks of Andalusia, Jesús Contreras Ramos, among others.
The poster hall has been the scenario of this solemn act, in which the work, dedication and elegance of coachmen, owners, carriages and participants have been recognized that have been part of an especially emotional edition, with the tribute to the Valencian towns affected by the DANA and with the Olympic champion of Bádminton, Carolina Marín, as a godmother of honor. Not only has technical or aesthetic excellence been awarded, but also the effort to keep alive a cultural manifestation that is part of the soul of the city.
Awards for tradition, style and generational relief
Among the most prominent awards, the Yeguada Brothers Jiménez Burgos has collected the Trophy for Best Calesera – Real Cup Master of Cavalry of Sevillewhile Fabiola Tejada It has done with the Special Award for Best Spanish Mantilla.
The trophies have also been delivered to the best professional and amateur coachman, to young participants and the best outfits related to the mantilla, the hat and the flamenco suit. The female and youth presence has been especially valued by the organization, which stressed the importance of promoting generational relief in this discipline.
This year’s hook exhibition has brought together more than 250 horses and a wide variety of traditional hooks, such as caleseras, trunks, boundaries, tandem, tenillos, five in the long run and coach. In addition, 14 female contestants, 11 minors and 15 carriages have participated. In total, some 60 women wore white mantilla, consolidating Seville as the European city with the greatest number and quality of this traditional symbol.
