Antwerp New Goalkeeper: Official Signing

NOZAWA, a 22-year-old goalkeeper of 1M93, signed a contract for four seasons at the Great Old. He comes over from FC Tokyo, which is currently in full competition in the Japanese J1 League. Despite the current season, NOZAWA already joins the Antwerp players’ group at the beginning of July.

NOZAWA was previously linked to Antwerp as a possible successor to Senne Lammens, possibly leaving Antwerp. According to earlier reports, The Great Old would pay around one million euros for the Japanese goalie. The deal fits within the wider preparations of sporting director Marc Overmars, who waps against a summer with many outgoing transfers.

With Nozawa, Antwerp gets a young but experienced goalkeeper who already made an impression in Japan with his reflexes, length and presence in the penalty area. The club hopes to have a reliable closing post in Nozawa that can quickly adapt to the Belgian top football.
