The RSC Anderlecht has a few more weeks in front of it on the transfer market. The Brussels club seeks to strengthen, but will especially let go of several players. If Kasper Dolberg could be part of these, an extension of his stay would finally be on the agenda.
The 27 -year -old striker seemed promised a great European career when he broke into Ajax at a young age. But in part because of injuries, he could not reach his full potential.
A transfer to the OGC Nice to France was to be the springboard to a European superpower. But that was not the case. Dolberg did not meet expectations in France. Rentals at FC Seville and TSG Hoffenheim were not very successful either.
His career was therefore likely to be interrupted. It was then that the former managing director of Anderlecht, Jesper Fredberg, flair the case. Thanks to his Danish relations, he guided his compatriot to the Lotto Park.
Renard absolutely wants to keep dolberg
Anderlecht paid five million euros for his arrival. This sum turned out to be a good investment. Dolberg quickly became the undisputed number one as an attacker. Today he has 87 matches on the clock with the RSCA, during which he scored 39 goals.
Even if he sometimes has trouble winning in the big matches, his added value on the ground is indisputable. However, in recent weeks, it has been clearly associated with a departure. Dolberg is indeed one of the few players who could bring a good sum this summer. In addition, it is open to a new opportunity in one of the best European leagues.
However, his file has taken a new turn. Sudpresse, for example, reports that sports director Olivier Renard wants to do everything to keep Dolberg.
Anderlecht has assets in hand
The former goalkeeper has already said that he preferred to sell other players rather than the Danish striker. The fact that there is no concrete offer on the part of the upper leagues at the moment is playing in its favor. And the RSCA still has assets to assert.
Dolberg is assured of a permanent place in Anderlecht and will be able to play the European Cup next season. Which is not unimportant given its place in the national team. As the 2026 World Cup approaches, a transfer to a club where it has no guarantee to play would be a big risk.
In addition, the striker and his family are well installed in Brussels, which he certainly would not give up for any club. Of course, the transfer window is still long and many things can change in the coming weeks. But the chances of an extension of the Dolberg stay is no longer nonexistent, when a departure seemed acquired a few weeks ago.
