#Caarense Flag Football Championship #Olympic Training Center #SESPORTE
The Olympic Training Center (CFO) receives, on February 15 and 16, the first edition of the Cearense Flag Football Championship. This will be the first state championship of the sport, bringing together athletes and enthusiasts in search of spreading and strengthening the sport in the state.
“The event will mark the development of the Flag Football modality in our state and further strengthen sports,” said sports secretary Rogério Pinheiro. The sport has recently been recognized as an Olympic sport and will be present at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
The championship will be attended by four teams: Fortaleza Tritões (Fortaleza), Kariri Hunters (Barbalha), Juazeiro Raptors (Juazeiro do Norte) and Ceará Sabres (Fortaleza). There will be 16 games in total, with disputes in the male and female categories, promoting gender equality and inclusion in sport. For those who want to know the mode entry is free.
Competition is a joint initiative of the four state teams and support from the Northeastern Football Football Federation (FENNEF).
In addition to strengthening the modality in the state, Flag Football has been spread in Ceará through the 3 -Time Sports Program, from the Secretariat of Sport, which encourages sports as a tool for social transformation.
