Haliburton suffered the injury on Sunday at the beginning of the seventh and decisive final game for the NBA championship against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder won the seventh game with 103: 91 and thus the trophy with 4: 3 victories. “I have worked towards it all my life, and so it ends? That doesn’t make sense,” said Haliburton, who was operated on in New York.
In his posting, the most important player in the Pacers gave deep insights into his mind constitution. He wished he could count after the operation how often people told him that he would come back more.
“What a cliché, this shit annoys. My foot feels like a block on the leg,” he reported. But most of them pain. He feels like he was fascinating, but knew that if he got through everything, he would proudly look back on it. “It is good to let out the crap without you all seeing the child’s ugly crying,” wrote the Olympic champion of Paris.
“Indy, I’m sorry”
“Indy, I’m sorry,” said Haliburton his regret about the missed NBA title directly to the fans: “If there is a fan base that does not deserve it, then all of us will give you everything to come back and overcome this hurdle.”
He creates courage from the words of the late basketball legend Kobe Bryant. The latter said there were major problems than an Achilles tendon tear. “Stop giving yourself up to you, find the positive and get involved in working with the same belief, the same drive and the same conviction,” he quoted Bryant.
Achilles tendon tears run through season
Haliburton’s injury was the inglorious climax of a season in which three stars were injured in the play-off with a tear of the Achilles tendon. In the past few months, Jayson had suffered the same injury from the Boston Celtics and Damien Lillard from the Milwaukee Bucks.
