Last weekend, 81 young talents from all over Upper Austria competed for the Badminton national championship 2025 in the age groups U9 to U22. The Sportunion Raiffeisen Braunau was able to fight for three gold medals and other podium places.
Enns, Braunau. Noah Kundl won three silver in the U17 age group – in singles, in doubles together with Sebastian Preiner (Union Ohlsdorf) and in mixed with Helene Linninger (Askö Enen). Monah Kundl, actually still in the U15 age group, caused a real surprise: Together with her double partner Dana-Lynn Grafinger (Askö Traun), she secured the national championship title in the U17 Damendoppel. In the U15 single she secured the bronze medal. In the U15-Mixed she convinced with partner Kay Ton Wu (Askö Traun) and won another bronze medal.
Alexander Hofbauer secured the national championship title in the U11 both in the young singles and in the boys double. “Our young players not only won medals this weekend, but also convinced with team spirit and discipline. We can be very proud of that as a club,” says Göran Schwack, coach and sporting director of Badminton Braunau.
