Participation in the Russian Championship will deprive Belarusian clubs of the opportunity to play in European competitions.
After the attack of the Russian Federation on Ukraine, Russian clubs and the national team became outcasts in the international arena – they are removed from participation in international matches. Kovalchuk actually offers the same thing to do the same with Belarusian clubs.
UEFA allows only national championships, controlling the supranational level in the form of European cups. In short, the Belarusian clubs will participate in the Russian Championship, then they will not be able to play with European teams.

Kovalchuk cited as an example the participation of the Dynamo Minsk in the Russian Continental Hockey League. But this example is extremely incorrect for many reasons. Including because European hockey is controlled by completely different rules.
And it must be borne in mind that the hockey “Dynamo-Minsk” is pulling a lot of money from Belarusian enterprises. Its budget is about $ 6.5 million for one season, and the main sponsor is Belaruskali.
The country simply cannot afford to finance at such a level (frankly, hockey cannot-but the authorities insist).
So then what will happen to the Belarusian football clubs if they come to the Russian Championship? It is unlikely that any of them will be able to play in the Premier League (the first division). The budgets of the poorest Russian teams there are about $ 10 million, the middle peasants – $ 30–40 million, and the leaders are in the region of 100.
So, Belarusian teams will be forced to play in the lower Russian divisions, wound along the outback of the Russian Federation and overcoming thousands of kilometers. And they will also be forced to pay from their pocket for this.
And is this instead of playing with European clubs and earnings on European competitions?
