He highlighted the lack of consistent success for Kazakh clubs in international competitions, with the exception of Astana, and how this perception fueled Petrocub’s motivation. The comments from Kazakh pundits, coupled with the passionate defense of Moldovan football by Peter Efros, galvanized the team to prove their mettle.

Ultimately, Petrocub’s victory over Ordabasy played a significant role in Martin’s subsequent appointment as Ordabasy’s coach. He believes his team’s performance in those two matches demonstrated his capabilities and led to the offer.
