Degerfors IF has recently bolstered its squad with the additions of Elias Barsoum, Maill Lundgren, Marcus Rafferty, Leon, and Juhani Pikkarainen.
In a strategic move, the Swedish club has also secured Omar Faraj on loan until the summer, further strengthening their roster.
In an effort to fund new signings, Degerfors recently launched a fundraising campaign on their official website, aiming to attract financial support for players they currently cannot afford.
Meanwhile, reports from Nerikes Allehanda suggest that Degerfors is engaged in extended discussions with Daniel Sundgren, a seasoned player currently with Greek club Volos FC.
Sundgren, who joined Volos FC in September, has a contract running until this summer. When questioned about the rumors linking him to Degerfors, he responded with enthusiasm.
- I’m not aware of any ongoing talks, but it’s always flattering to be linked with a club like Degerfors. It’s a team that holds a special place in my heart, he shared in an interview with The Football Channel.
Earlier this year, sundgren trained with AIK, sparking speculation about a potential return. Though, he clarified his stance on the matter.
– I don’t engage directly with clubs; that’s what my agent handles. AIK and Degerfors are clubs I’ve represented in the past, so it’s natural to maintain some level of contact. That said, I got the impression that AIK was focusing on other plans this summer. Still, I wish them the best for 2025 and hope they can compete strongly, Sundgren told The Football Channel.
– With so many players in the mix, it’s easy for fans to speculate, he added, highlighting the unpredictable nature of transfer rumors.
