On February 15,Ilia Topuria,the reigning UFC featherweight champion,will grace Bilbao too kick off the WOW season,Spain’s premier mixed martial arts league. The inaugural event is set to take place in Miribilla, wiht Topuria expressing his gratitude to the Bilbao community for their overwhelming support. “I’m thrilled to be part of this momentous occasion and look forward to meeting the fans in person,” he shared in a video posted on the tournament’s official social media channels.
The Bilbao Arena will host the event on Saturday, February 15, featuring a lineup of fourteen fights, including nine professional bouts. This marks the beginning of an exciting season for MMA enthusiasts across Spain.
WOW has aspiring plans for 2025, with a minimum of ten events scheduled across the country. The season will commence in Bilbao in February, followed by four events in Madrid. The tour will then move to Seville, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Alicante, and the Canary Islands in April, bringing high-octane action to fans nationwide.
As a key shareholder in WOW, Topuria’s involvement adds meaningful prestige to the league. The association is known for its ample investments, with each event costing approximately 300,000 euros. Fans can catch all the action live on Movistar Plus+, ensuring they don’t miss a single moment of the thrilling matches.
