Doug: Well,there’s no doubt these young guys have a lot of buzz around them,and rightfully so. Anthony’s power numbers are eye-popping, and Campbell’s hitting streak last year was simply amazing. You can’t teach that kind of raw talent.
Absolutely. Anthony topping Baseball Prospectus’s Top 101 list is a huge deal. It shows how highly-regarded he is throughout the league, not just within the Red Sox organization. Do you see Anthony as a potential franchise cornerstone like Rafael Devers?
Doug: Anthony’s got all the tools to be that kind of player. He’s got the power,the speed,and the defense is improving quickly. But the pressure of Boston can be intense.Only time will tell if he can handle it.

Doug: Exactly. We saw what happened with Andrew Benintendi. He was a highly-touted prospect, but the pressure seemed to get to him at times.
Certainly true. Can you talk about the importance of organizational resilience, something we saw with Marcelo Mayer despite the struggles with injuries?
Doug: Mayer is a tough kid, that’s for sure. Battling back from injuries shows great character. Seeing him still ranked as the part popst in they system shows the Red Sox are committed to his growth, and I believe he has all the tools to be a long-term valuable asset for the team.
