However, the celebratory atmosphere was marred by several incidents involving unruly fans, leading to one arrest and the identification of 15 individuals by the Leiria PSP.The PSP reported that a fan was apprehended for threatening and insulting law enforcement officers, resulting in their exclusion from the match.
Fifteen other supporters faced consequences for various infractions. Three were identified for setting off fireworks outside the stadium, while eight were found to have exceeded the legal blood alcohol limit. One individual refused a breathalyzer test, another attempted to smuggle in pyrotechnics and possessed narcotics, and one more was cited for disrespecting stadium security personnel.
All thes individuals were barred from entering the stadium, while another fan was ejected for igniting fireworks inside the venue.
The PSP issued official citations for all contraventions,which will be forwarded to the Authority for the Prevention and Combating of Violence in Sport (APCVD). the individual arrested for threatening officers will be summoned to appear before a judge.
The dramatic final unfolded at the Estádio Municipal Dr. Magalhães Pessoa in Leiria. Benfica took an early lead through Andreas Schjelderup’s 29th-minute strike, but Sporting equalized just before halftime with a viktor Gyökeres penalty.

Paulo Futre: definitely. There needs to be a zero-tolerance policy. Stiffer penalties,stadium bans,maybe even educational campaigns to change the culture. We can’t allow this kind of behaviour to become normalized.

paulo Futre: Passion is essential, it’s the heart and soul of football. But there’s a clear difference between cheering for your team and resorting to violence or disrespecting officials. It’s about knowing your limits and understanding that your actions have consequences.
