French Biathlete Dominates Sprint in Oberhof
Paula Botetová of France secured a commanding victory in the women’s 7.5km sprint at the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof, Germany. Botetová, a two-time junior world champion, showcased exceptional accuracy, achieving a clean shooting record, which proved crucial in her triumph. Top Slovakian biathlete paulína Bátovská Fialková opted to skip the oberhof event, focusing rather on intensive training in Val Martel, Italy, in preparation for the second half of the season and the upcoming World Championships.
“This preparation is essential for the World Championships,” Bátovská Fialková stated in an interview with STVR. “Having missed the entire previous season, the training I’ve undertaken since March might not be sufficient.I need to enhance my endurance. While the World Cup in Ruhpolding will be demanding after this training camp, everything is geared towards peaking for the World Championships.My goal is to be in the best possible shape for the event,” she added.
The Biathlon World Championships are scheduled to take place in Lenzerheide from February 12th to 23rd.
