Parma Baseball Welcomes Back Local Talent Francesco Segreto
Parma Baseball is thrilled to announce the return of francesco Segreto, a promising 21-year-old infielder and outfielder, to the team. Segreto, a product of the Baganza Hall youth system and a fixture in national teams, rejoins Parma after two seasons with Parmaclima and Reggio Emilia.

Segreto’s journey with Parma Baseball began in 2022, followed by a stint with Parmaclima in 2023. During his time with Parmaclima, he recorded 14 hits, including three doubles, in 57 at-bats, and even participated in the Champions Cup in Amsterdam.
In 2024, Segreto joined Reggio emilia, where he showcased his hitting prowess with an impressive .329 batting average, accumulating 24 hits in 73 at-bats, two doubles, a triple, and 23 runs scored.
Segreto’s return to Parma is driven by his belief in the team’s ambitious project. “The technical project presented to me was a key factor in my decision,” Segreto stated. “It focuses on developing young players while striving for significant achievements. I’m fully committed to contributing to the team’s success.”

Francesco, welcome back to Parma! It’s clear the club is thrilled to have you back. What ultimately convinced you to return?
Francesco: Thanks for having me!
It feels great to be back in Parma. Honestly, the decision was a no-brainer. The technical project cristiano Ronchini presented was incredibly compelling. They’re dedicated to developing young talent while aiming for important achievements. It’s a perfect environment for me to grow and contribute to the team’s success.
You’ve tasted success at different levels, including playing in the Champions Cup with Parmaclima. How do you think your experiences will benefit Parma Baseball this season?
Francesco: My time with Parmaclima and Reggio Emilia were invaluable learning experiences.Playing in the Champions Cup exposed me to a higher level of competition,which I will definitely carry over to Parma. Reggio emilia allowed me to refine my hitting skills and build on my confidence. I’m eager to apply thes lessons and help Parma reach new heights.
Parma Baseball emphasizes nurturing local talent. What does it mean to you personally to contribute to this initiative?
Francesco: Being from Parma makes this even sweeter. It’s an honor to represent my hometown club and inspire young athletes in the region.
I believe Parma Baseball is building something special, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
Playing alongside many familiar faces from Parma and Cross seems like a major advantage. How will that familiarity influence the team’s dynamic?
Francesco: It’s definitely a plus! We already have a strong rapport, which translates into
easy communication and strong chemistry on the field. I believe that pre-existing bond will be a significant asset as we work together towards our goals.

Francesco: I enjoy playing both infield and catcher. I’m willing to
go wherever the team needs me most. My goal is simply to contribute and help us win.

Francesco:
My focus is on building upon my strong 2024 season and exceeding my previous performance. As a team, we have ambitious goals. We want to be competitive and strive for a championship. I am confident in our abilities and believe we have the potential to achieve great things.
