We know the program for the Coupe de France football semi-finals. Valenciennes, last in Ligue 2, will travel to Lyon on Wednesday April 2 and the winner of the Paris-Nice quarter-final will host Rennes the next day, the French Football Federation announced on Tuesday.
The last quarter-final between Paris SG, leader of Ligue 1, and Nice, now 5th in the championship, must be played on March 13 “due to the European calendar of the capital club” which is playing its round of 16 on Tuesday March 5 return from the Champions League against Real Sociedad (PSG victory 2-0, in the first leg in Paris).
Rennes had won their ticket to the last four after their success (3-1) against Puy (N2) on Thursday February 29 at the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium in Saint-Étienne.
The final of the competition, scheduled for Saturday May 25, will not be able to be held at the Stade de France, due to work for the Olympic Games. As mentioned in our columns, it could take place at the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Lille, a candidate for its organization and well placed to be retained by the Federation due to the elimination of Lille in the round of 16.
The FFF will officially designate the venue for the final after the quarter-final between Paris SG and Nice on March 13.
