Cleveland Cavaliers (10-9) – Portland Trail Blazers (6-12) 95:103 (BOXSCORE)

Injuries can no longer be used as an excuse for Cleveland, the Cavs returned to their full rotation only to ultimately lose to the Blazers. Shaedon Sharpe was the man of the evening for Portland, the guard put up 29 points (11/15 FG), 10 rebounds and 5 assists in just under 40 minutes. With a drive just under two minutes before the end, the youngster increased it to +8 – the preliminary decision in this game. Cleveland was already leading at the beginning of the second quarter with +16, but had offensive problems the entire game. The 19 turnovers were accompanied by a shooting rate of 43 percent, and hardly anything was successful from downtown (7/32). Donovan Mitchell (23) was the top scorer, but missed eight of his nine three-pointers. Darius Garland (15, 6/18) had 8 turnovers, while the Cavs’ best player was Evan Mobley (20, 9/14, 8 rebounds). Portland particularly had advantages with the bench, here they made the No. 3 pick Scoot Henderson (2, 1/8, 7 assists) did a good job despite the catastrophic shooting rate.

New York Knicks (11-7) – Detroit Pistons (2-16) 118:112 (BOXSCORE)

It is official. The Detroit Pistons didn’t have a single win in the entire month of November. At Madison Square Garden there were 16 (!) defeats in a row, and coach Monty Williams’ changes only had limited results. Jaden Ivey and rookie Ausar Thompson had to go to the bench, with Killian Hayes (23, 10/13) and Isaiah Livers (6) starting for them. At least the Pistons were in the game for a long time after a weak start (17:31), although Jalen was there Brunson (42, 7/12 3P, 8 assists) and Julius Randle (29, 12/21, 10 rebounds, 8 assists) simply cannot be stopped. In the middle of the final period, the Pistons sniffed at the equalizer, but then Donte DiVincenzo (12, 4/8 3P) hit two triples in a row, after which it was no longer close. Cade Cunningham (31, 12/20, 8 assists, 7 TO) was The Pistons’ best scorer, plus Marcus Sasser came off the bench with 17 points. Isaiah Hartenstein scored 2 points (1/1), 3 rebounds and 3 steals in 17 minutes for New York.

Miami Heat (11-8) – Indiana Pacers (9-8) 142:132 (BOXSCORE)

Pacers games remain wild affairs, including in Miami. Tyrese Haliburton scored 28 points in the first half alone, and in the end there were 44 points (15/28) and 10 assists. And yet that wasn’t enough to win, as Jimmy Butler scored 24 of his 36 points (9/18 FG, 18/20 FT, 10 rebounds) after halftime. But with such a weak defense, the Pacers will continue to need many, many points . In the final period the guests allowed 45 points, 24 of which were in the zone and another 13 from the free throw line. Miami shot 15/18 in this period, with Jaime Jaquez Jr. scoring the most (24, 8/13). kept getting easy finishes on the ring.
Indiana made it exciting again after a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but Butler and Jaquez showed no nerves at the free throw line. The Heat lost Bam Adebayo in the first half, who re-injured his hip. Obi Toppin scored 25 points for the Pacers.

Brooklyn Nets (9-9) – Charlotte Hornets (6-11) 128:129 (BOXSCORE)

The Nets are also treading water a bit, not least because the defense isn’t as good as hoped. 129 points allowed against the Hornets without LaMelo Ball are certainly no glory, and coach Jacque Vaughn was correspondingly annoyed after the game. After the game, the head coach spoke of “concentration problems”. For Charlotte, Terry Rozier (37, 13/25, 13 assists) was the outstanding man, and it was he who gave the guests a three-pointer 2:30 minutes before the end the winning road brought and in the final minute sank another stepback jumper. The Nets had one last chance to extend the game, but Cam Johnson’s three-pointer didn’t go through the net. The Nets’ best scorer was Cam Thomas (26, 11/21) coming off the bench, and Nic Claxton (20, 14 rebounds) posted a double-double. Gordon Hayward (22, 8/14) and Miles Bridges (23, 9/15) also scored efficiently for Charlotte.

San Antonio Spurs (3-15) – Atlanta Hawks (9-9) 135:137 (BOXSCORE)

The Hawks almost gave it away and the guests were lucky that San Antonio didn’t have a challenge left in the final seconds. Because: Jeremy Sochan managed a steal on the inbounds with -2 and 4 seconds left on the clock, rushed across the field, but (allegedly) committed an offensive foul on Trae Young, a thoroughly questionable decision. So the Spurs suffered their 13th defeat in a row, even if San Antonio was once again in the front for a long time (highest lead: +15). Sochan set his career high with 33 points (12/14), Victor Wembanyama had 21 points (9/16), 12 rebounds and 4 blocks. Sixth man Devin Vassell (25, 8/14) also shone on offense. In the end, there were no solutions against Trae Young, who put up 45 points (15/29 FG, 13/16 FT) and 14 assists in 40 minutes. In the final period alone there were 13 and 6. Dejounte Murray (24, 10/21, 5 steals) sank an important three-pointer in crunch time against his former team, and a total of seven Hawks players scored in double figures.

Oklahoma City Thunder (12-6) – Los Angeles Lakers (11-9) 133:110 (BOXSCORE)

Before the game, a clever person had calculated that LeBron James had more minutes in the NBA than the entire Thunder team. James couldn’t buy any of that, instead OKC surprised the Lakers, winning the second quarter 42:23 (!). The Thunder were already leading by 20 points in the third quarter, but it never really got exciting. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander once again put up an efficient 33 points (11/18 FG, 10/10 FT), Jalen Williams (21, 8/13) and Chet Holmgren (18, 8/15) provided solid support. The Lakers quickly led by 14 points, but did not have the depth of the Thunder, who turned the game around with their bench lineups. LeBron James put up 21 points (7/12), 12 rebounds and 6 assists, Davis (31, 11 /18, 14 rebounds) also had a double-double. Nevertheless, the Lakers were hardly able to generate any stops, OKC sank 53 percent from the field.

Minnesota Timberwolves (14-4) – Utah Jazz (6-13) 101:90 (BOXSCORE)

Even without Anthony Edwards, the Wolves secured an easy victory, and Minnesota was once again able to rely on its own defense. The guests from Utah were held to 38 percent from the field and forced 21 turnovers. Rudy Gobert (15, 13 rebounds, 3 blocks) was in good spirits against his former team, and Karl-Anthony Towns (32, 12/22, 11 rebounds) did the lion’s share of the scoring. Nickeil Alexander-Walker also contributed 20 points The Canadian had a good phase, especially with a 15-0 run in the second quarter. Keyonte George (12 4/19) had big problems at Utah, the best scorer was Simone Fontecchio (16). Lauri Markkanen was still missing with a thigh injury.

Chicago Bulls (6-14) – Milwaukee Bucks (13-6) 120:113 OT (BOXSCORE)

Hmm, the Bulls were without Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan and as it turns out, that wasn’t a real disadvantage. Chicago had 32 assists, which was a season high, and also had a player in Alex Caruso (11) who made the big plays. With the siren, the guard sent overtime with a three-pointer over the outstretched arms of Brook Lopez (20, 6/10 3P).It looked like Chicago would lose this game in classic Bulls style. With a good 90 seconds left, the hosts were still leading by +7 before the Bucks went on a 10-0 run. Giannis Antetokounmpo (26, 11/17, 14 rebounds, 5 blocks) hit two clutch free throws and cleared Patrick Williams (12) in an elite manner, but then Caruso was there. The extension ultimately belonged to the Bulls, and Milwaukee couldn’t find any more funds. The Bulls’ best scorer was Nikola Vucevic, who started an 8-0 run with a dunk in overtime. A total of eight Bulls players scored in double figures, and Chicago also benefited from the strong bench around Jevon Carter (11) and Andre Drummond (10, 14 rebounds). Coby White had 21 points. Damian Lillard (18, 7/16, 13 assists, 7 TO) recorded a double-double for the Bucks.

Golden State Warriors (9-10) – L.A. Clippers (8-10) 120:114 (BOXSCORE)

In a duel between two previously disappointing teams, the Warriors prevailed and benefited from the fact that the Clippers were active in Sacramento the day before. So it didn’t matter that Chris Paul and Gary Payton II were missing. Stephen Curry led the Dubs with 26 points (8/15), 7 rebounds and 8 assists, Klay Thompson contributed 22 points and had a good phase, especially in the fourth quarter, when he scored 10 points for the Warriors in less than two minutes in one go.Despite the injuries, the Warriors’ bargaining chip was the depth in the squad. Eight players scored double-digit points, and Jonathan Kuminga (17) and rookie Brandin Podziemski (13, 8 rebounds) had a big influence on the game coming off the bench. The Warriors also had to do without Andrew Wiggins, who injured his thumb before the game when he tried to close a car door. The Clippers, on the other hand, hardly hit a jumper for a long time, and Kawhi Leonard (23, 9/17) was far too rare involved in the offense. James Harden put up 18 points and 7 assists, Paul George (15, 6/18, 10 assists) hardly had any rhythm. Daniel Theis played just under 15 minutes, but despite 10 points (4/9) was more of a weak point for the guests. Ivica Zubac did better (18, 13 rebounds).
