Paris Basketball Dominates Le Mans in Betclic Elite Victory

Paris Basketball continues its start-of-season festival. After two big victories over Dijon and Saint-Quentin, the capital club did it again on Wednesday, during the third day of Betclic Elite, by crushing Le Mans (112-71) at home. The Parisians already led 36-17 at the end of the first quarter and put it back in the last 10 minutes, passing their opponent 32-19. The American TJ Shorts, who arrived this summer from Bonn (Germany), was the main architect of the Parisian victory with 25 points.

At the same time, Asvel inflicted an equally impressive correction on Portel (101-66), punished in front of his audience. The Villeurbannais were clearly in the lead at the break (58-36) and did not weaken thereafter. Franck Jackson scored 22 points for them. For Portel, Bastien Vautier also scored 22 points.

The Boulogne-Levallois Mets never stop losing. Already dominated by Saint-Quentin and Bourg-en-Bresse, this time they suffered the law of Limoges (90-67). At the break, the Ile-de-France residents were in front (38-30), but they conceded a terrible 31-11 in the third quarter.

First victory for Chalon-sur-Saône

Tevin Brown’s 25 points did not win Boulogne-Levallois. On the Limoges side, the collective worked well, with Nemanja Nenadic (17 points), Kameron McGusty (14 pts), Simisola Shittu (14), Nicolas Lang (11) and Lucas Beaufort (10).

Earlier in the evening, in a match between two poorly ranked players, the promoted Chalon-sur-Saône won at Gravelines-Dunkerque (83-81), driven by the 23 points of Slovenian Aleksej Nikolic, and thus won their first success of the season. Since the start of the Championship, four teams have yet to win in Betclic Elite: Dijon, Gravelines-Dunkerque, Boulogne-Levallois and Le Portel.
