Belinda Bencic (WTA 14) will be the headliner of the Ladies Open, WTA 250 tournament scheduled in Lausanne from July 24 to 30. The tournament organizers also announce the presence of the three other sacred players in the Billie Jean King Cup last year.
In addition to Belinda Bencic, who is currently the only member of the top-20 registered in Lausanne, Simona Waltert (WTA 115), Jil Teichmann (WTA 129) and Viktorija Golubic (WTA 138) also appear in the Entry List unveiled on Wednesday . The quartet gave Swiss women’s tennis its first team world title last fall.
Jil Teichmann and Viktorija Golubic are currently not admitted directly to the final draw of the tournament, but an invitation could be awarded to them. Also note the presence of the Russian prodigy Mirra Andreeva (16 years old / WTA 102) and the ex-world No. 4 Sofia Kenin (WTA 126).
