48 athletes make up the delegation that will compete from May 12.
Forty-eight Quindian athletes will perform in the national final of the 2022 Intercollegiate Games, which opened yesterday in individual sports, beginning with boccia, at the High Performance Center (CAR), where 2,500 athletes and 500 coaches (17 from the Quindío) of 29 departments of the country.
“The first group of Quindío athletes will travel on Thursday to the Colombian capital where the department will begin competitions on May 12 in the discipline of swimming,” reported Indeportes Quindío.
From Mindeporte they explained that “the second discipline to be launched will be swimming, starting next May 12 at the Bogotá Aquatic Complex, while athletics and wrestling sports will be put into practice on the 14th of this month at the Unidad Deportiva El Salitre and the CAR, respectively”.
Those of the sectional entity will perform in chess, athletics, para-athletics, artistic gymnastics, skating, badminton, wrestling, judo, karate, BMX cycling, track cycling, road cycling, swimming, table tennis and weight lifting.

The venues set up for the competitions are the High Performance Center (CAR), Aquatic Complex, El Salitre Sports Unit (UDS), Los Ejidos Tejo Coliseum, El Salitre Coliseum, El Tunal Park, IDRD President Hall, La Fragua Coliseum, Parque El Salitre Sports Center (PRD), Sports Palace, San Andrés Coliseum and Tocancipá Raceway
A total of 21 conventional disciplines and 4 parasports make up the national final. Individual sports are divided into 3 categories: children between 10 and 12 years old, pre-juvenile between 13 and 14 years and youth between 15 and 17 years. The Quindío mission chief will be Gloria Inés Herrera, from Indeportes Quindío.
