Badminton La Nucía rises to “First National Gold”

The Shuttle La Nucía Badminton Club achieved the historic promotion to First National Gold last weekend at the Cartagena Pavilion, in the last day of the National First Silver Badminton League. In this way, the Nuciero club chained two consecutive promotions, going from the Valencian Regional League to the First Gold in two seasons.

In its first season in the Liga Nacional Primera Plata, Club Badminton Shuttle La Nucía has finished unbeaten, with full victories, 11 out of 11 in the four days of national competition, finishing first and achieving “promotion”, which was the goal of the club. The next season he will play in the Liga Nacional Primera Oro (second category of national Badminton), being the only representative of the Valencian Community.

Ascent in Cartagena

The fourth and final day of the Liga Nacional Primera Plata was held last weekend at the Pabellón de Cartagena, with the last three clashes between the 12 teams. The Shuttle La Nucía Badminton Club closed the league with three victories: 4-3 against Cura Mora from Extremadura, 6-1 against Benalmádena B and 5-2 against Guadalajara. On this last day they were supported in the stands by members of the club and athletes from the La Nucía Badminton School.

With these three victories, the Nuciero club ended the 2022-2023 season in first position, unbeaten, achieving promotion to First Gold, followed by CB Cartagena, which has also been promoted with a single defeat, precisely against La Nucía. Let’s remember that the second day of this National First Silver League was played at the Camilo Cano Pavilion in February, so they also played at “home” in this intense season.
