With more than 300 guests, this year’s summer festival was a complete success. There was something for all age groups. The little ones could prove themselves at the Sportlion Olympiad. In addition to the bouncy castle, a “stubborn donkey” was waiting for cowboys and girls big and small this year for the first time. As expected, the culinary highlight of the event was the cotton candy. The barista from the also met with great approval Up Town Coffee Barwho served Fair Trade coffee from Colombia.
In the evening there was a premiere: At the first Sports Lions Beach Cup A total of eight teams registered. The team around Pepe Seliger and head coach Sebastian Hampel faced each other in the final. The coaching team with Christoph Paul, base coach Mike Göpfert and his wife Tina were already leading 11:4 in the final and already looked like the sure winners. But a hard and precise serve series by the opponent ensured the connection hit. In the end, the student team with Pepe Seliger, Paul Hähle, Emil Vogel, Hugo Schmidt and Mahdi Yaghobi won 24:19.
During the event, the most successful club athletes were also honored. All of them won gold at judo championships and were awarded a 50 euro shopping voucher by the association.

President Tino Rose:
“We haven’t been able to host a club party for three years. I’m all the more pleased that it worked out this year. We were therefore very happy to take on all the costs for the festival, as we also wanted to give something back to the members. I think we succeeded. Everyone had a great time. It was particularly nice to see how many teams took part in the Beach Cup. We will definitely do that again next year.”
