FC Schalke 04: Hammer in the end of the season! S04 gets HIM as a coach support – Bundesliga

Schalke leaves no stone unturned in the fight for promotion. And causes a sensation at the end of the season!

According to BILD information, the Revier-Klub has strengthened itself again for the last seven matchdays – on the bench! Peter Hermann (70) will be assistant to interim boss Mike Büskens (54) until mid-May.

Hermann is currently an assistant coach with the German U20 national team, working there alongside Christian Wörns (49). Hermann became known above all as a long-time assistant to Jupp Heynckes (76) at FC Bayern, in 2013 they won the Champions League together. They also celebrated the German championship in 2013, 2018 and 2019.

Why this decision? The Schalke bosses want to have a tactics expert on the team. One that can analyze the opponents in detail. Büskens is better known for his motivational strength.

Tomorrow, Thursday, one day before the away game in Dresden, Hermann will be on the Schalke training ground for the first time. For him personally, Gelsenkirchen is not a new place: Hermann worked for Schalke from 2013 to 2014, at that time as assistant coach to Jens Keller (51).

In 2015 he was briefly the assistant to the then interim coach Peter Knäbel (55) at HSV – today’s Schalke sports director.

With Hermann, the return to the Bundesliga should be successful. Schalke (47 points) is currently fourth, four points behind St. Pauli and Bremen. The gap to Darmstadt, currently in third place, is only one point. Schalke is still playing against all three competitors in the final spurt of the season.
