NM1 Round 10: Loon Plage and Orchies secure wins on Friday

The 10th round of the NM1 season saw nine matches take place on Friday, November 6. In Pool A, Loon Plage reinforced its position as a top contender with a decisive 92-65 victory over Lyon SO. The result represents the seventh loss for the Lyon side, which struggled to keep pace with the visitors, particularly in the final quarter where they were held to just seven points. Nathan Jeanne paced the offensive effort for the Nordistes with 19 points and five assists, while teammate Naoll Balfourier added 14 points and five rebounds to secure their eighth win of the season.

Orchies also secured a comfortable win in Pool A, defeating Besançon 93-78. The match was effectively decided in the first half, as Orchies entered the locker room with a 57-32 lead. Mounir Bernaoui led the charge for the victors with a standout performance, recording 25 points, 16 rebounds, and four assists for a total evaluation of 34. Despite a late push from Besançon and a 23-point effort from Hugo Cluysen, the deficit proved too large to overcome.

Elsewhere in Pool A, Val de Seine defeated Charleville-Mézières 88-72, anchored by Trey Thomas’s 23-point performance. Meanwhile, Saint-Vallier claimed a narrow 78-72 victory on the road against the Pays Salonais.

Pool B leaders Rennes and Challans both maintained their momentum with contrasting results. Rennes emerged from a defensive struggle against Tours with a slim 80-78 win, relying on a balanced effort led by Ewan Le Carour, who contributed 16 points, eight rebounds, and four interceptions. Challans, however, delivered a more lopsided result, routing the CEP Lorient 95-61. The Vendéens built a massive 64-30 advantage by halftime, an intensity that Lorient was unable to match throughout the evening.

Les Sables d’Olonne also secured a hard-fought win, edging out Tarbes-Lourdes 84-82. Quentin Ruel was instrumental in the victory, finishing with 26 points on 12-of-19 shooting. The game remained close until the final possessions, reflecting the competitive nature of the pool’s mid-table battles.

In other Pool B action, Vitré claimed a 76-73 road win at Chartres, while the JSA Bordeaux earned a vital 83-75 victory over the Pays de Fougères. The win provides the JSA Bordeaux, now holding a 3-7 record, some breathing room over Laval in the current standings.

The 10th round of the NM1 concludes on Saturday, November 7, with a matchup between Berck and the SCABB Lab scheduled for 20:00 local time.
