The Gongda Feisi Plus Tennis Club claimed the annual championship at the 14th Hangzhou Tennis Club League finals, finishing the concluding tournament at the Xiaoshan Xiangshu Sports Park Tennis Center on Nov. 1. Xiaoshan Xiangshu Sports Park Tennis Center Hosts the Finale

Nov. 1 marked the end of the amateur calendar for Hangzhou's leading club players.

Twelve clubs advanced to the final stage after navigating the May and September qualifying rounds. The field included all top-seven finishers from the previous season, establishing a core group of veteran squads that drive grassroots participation and public engagement across the city.

Club Registration Rules and Structural Reform

By implementing a club registration system, organizers addressed amateur tournament issues such as player mobility, the use of temporary players, and loose management.

The standardized management model requires clubs to register, creating institutional stability and a sense of belonging for participating teams. Organizers also incorporated a guest group, aligning local amateur sports development with guidelines set by the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Sports.

Fourteen Years of Growth in Hangzhou Grassroots Tennis

Launched fourteen years ago, the Hangzhou Tennis Club League has evolved alongside the city’s sports infrastructure. Early iterations featured decentralized gatherings, whereas the modern tournament operates under administrative standards, multi-stage qualifications, and professional management.

The progression reflects a broader shift in local participation, moving tennis from a niche sport into a widely practiced activity across Hangzhou.
