Club Assures Financial Stability Amid Ueno Bank Situation

The Club Internacional de Tenis (CIT) released a statement on November 3, 2026, detailing its current financial exposure to Ueno Bank following recent developments affecting the institution. The club’s Board of Directors reported that a total of 270,000,000 guaraníes is held in the bank’s local currency accounts, a sum earmarked primarily for operational costs, including staff salaries and routine institutional obligations.

Deposit coverage and recovery procedures

The club confirmed that the 270,000,000 guaraníes currently held in Ueno Bank falls under the protection of the Deposit Guarantee Fund (FGD). This fund, managed by the Central Bank of Paraguay, provides coverage of up to 228,300,000 guaraníes per entity according to current national legislation. Regarding the remaining balance that exceeds this guarantee, the club stated it is monitoring the mechanisms and procedures established by the competent authorities for the recovery of those funds.

Status of dollar-denominated sponsorship funds

In addition to the guaraní accounts, the club provided an accounting of its dollar holdings at Ueno Bank. On October 27, 2026, the institution received a transfer of 100,000 USD, representing an advance payment for a 2027 sponsorship agreement. According to the Board of Directors, 25,034 USD of that total has already been utilized to meet institutional commitments, leaving a remaining balance of 74,966 USD. The club specified that these funds are designated for future sponsorship applications.

Institutional financial stability and operations

The Board of Directors emphasized that the majority of the club’s financial resources remain deposited in other national banking institutions. The funds held at Ueno Bank represent only a minority portion of the club’s total financial availability, according to the official statement. The board noted that the current situation does not compromise the club’s overall equity or its ability to maintain normal services and ongoing institutional projects.

Continuity of payment systems

The administration is currently evaluating alternatives to ensure the uninterrupted function of payment and collection systems, specifically mentioning automatic debits, credit card processing, and other operations linked to Ueno Bank. The club indicated that it will communicate any changes to these procedures to its members as soon as they are finalized. The Board of Directors continues to maintain permanent oversight of the situation to protect the institution’s assets and interests.
