Yonex French Badminton Open 2025 Moves to Arena Grand Paris

The Yonex French Open badminton tournament will take place from October 20 to 25 at the Arena Grand Paris in Tremblay-en-France, marking the first time the venue hosts the global circuit event, according to sportmag.

Arena Grand Paris Replaces Stade Pierre-de-Coubertin and Rennes

After a long run at the Stade Pierre-de-Coubertin in Paris and a stint in Rennes in 2025, the tournament returns to the Paris region. Competition shifts to the Arena Grand Paris in Tremblay-en-France, which holds 5,500 spectators in its badminton configuration. The tournament retains its BWF World Tour Super 750 status, ranking just behind the Super 1000 events and tour finals. Over 200 players are scheduled to compete.

French Contenders Headline Singles Draw

Christo Popov enters the tournament ranked No. 3 in the world following a victory at the Japan Open and a runner-up finish at last year’s French Open. His brother Toma Junior Popov competes as the world No. 15 in the singles bracket. World champion Alex Lanier, ranked No. 8 globally after winning his title in New Delhi, rounds out the French singles contingent.

World Champions Target Mixed Doubles and Team Events

Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue enter the mixed doubles draw as world champions following their victory this summer in New Delhi, holding the No. 4 spot in the world rankings. Camille Pognante and Margot Lambert compete in women’s doubles. The Popov brothers pair up in men’s doubles, while Léa Palermo and Julien Maio also enter the mixed doubles field.

Tournament Schedule and Venue Capacity

The 5,500-seat Arena Grand Paris provides a larger spectator capacity than the previous venue at Stade Pierre-de-Coubertin. Play opens on Tuesday, October 20, with the tournament finals scheduled for Sunday, October 25.
