Wuhan opens over 20 public sports venues for free or low cost during National Day

Wuhan sports authorities have announced that more than 20 public athletic venues across the city will offer free or low-cost admission periods during the National Day holiday, running from October 1 through October 7. The municipal initiative covers a wide range of disciplines including basketball, badminton, table tennis, swimming, tennis, football, track and field, and ice sports, designed to accommodate local fitness demands during the autumn break.

Wuhan Zall Culture and Sports Group and Major Hub Schedules

The Wuhan全民健身中心 (Wuhan全民健身中心) anchors the holiday schedule with staggered free windows for racquet sports and basketball. Free basketball sessions run from October 1 to October 3 between 6:30 AM and 5:30 PM, transitioning to low-cost rates from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM during those dates, and extending from 6:30 AM to 9:00 PM between October 4 and October 7. Table tennis and badminton courts at the center follow a similar pattern, offering free access from October 1 to October 3 between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM, with low-cost slots thereafter. Swimming facilities at the main complex remain open under low-cost pricing from 7:15 AM to 9:00 PM daily throughout the seven-day period, alongside a dedicated free tennis schedule from October 1 to October 3.

Across the city, district facilities have structured their hours to balance open-access community drills with managed court reservations. The Hanyang-based 汉江湾全民健身中心 provides early morning free access for badminton, football, and basketball from 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM daily, followed by low-cost pricing until 5:00 PM. Meanwhile, the Qingshan district facility offers specialized swimming hours, opening for free on October 1 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM before switching to low-cost evening sessions.

Digital Voucher Distribution for Specialized Parks

Certain high-tech venues are utilizing mobile mini-programs to manage crowd control during the holiday rush. Once the promotional vouchers are exhausted, these facilities transition to regular low-cost community pricing for the remainder of the holiday week.

Suburban and Outlying Venue Openings

Peripheral districts have also committed extensive municipal resources to ensure residents outside the urban core have direct access to exercise facilities. The Wufang Sports Center features free track and field access at its outdoor stadium from 6:00 AM to 5:30 PM daily, while its indoor stadium opens for badminton, basketball, and table tennis during morning and afternoon windows. In the southern districts, the Jiangxia Gymnasium has scheduled free indoor badminton, multi-sport outdoor yards, and national physical fitness monitoring sessions, complemented by scheduled equipment fitness access.
