Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson will miss Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins due to an ankle sprain, head coach Kevin O’Connell announced Friday. Jefferson sustained the injury during last week’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and did not participate in practice all week.
Vikings Roster Adjustments Ahead of Miami Matchup
Through three games this season, Jefferson has recorded 13 receptions for 179 yards and two touchdowns. The Vikings will also be without Charles Demmings, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury, and punter Brett Thorson, who is dealing with a right hamstring issue. Minnesota enters the contest looking for its fourth victory this season in as many games, while the Dolphins aim to secure their first victory following a three-game losing skid.
Philadelphia Eagles Miss Top Targets Against Los Angeles
The Philadelphia Eagles will also play without their primary wide receiver on Sunday, as DeVonta Smith is unavailable to face the Los Angeles Rams. Smith played every offensive snap during the team’s Monday night loss to the Chicago Bears but missed all practice sessions this week because of a hamstring injury. He currently leads the Eagles this season with 19 receptions for 235 receiving yards.
Jalen Hurts will be missing two of his favorite targets, as Dallas Goedert remains sidelined with a knee injury. Dontayvion Wicks is expected to step into the role of primary wide receiver for Philadelphia, supported by rookie Makai Lemon and Darius Cooper. On the defensive side, the Eagles will also be without linebacker Zack Baun, who is managing a concussion after being replaced late in Monday’s game by Jeremiah Trotter Jr.
Baltimore Linebacker Trey Hendrickson Undergoes Finger Surgery
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Trey Hendrickson will miss Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans after undergoing surgery to repair a fracture in a finger of his right hand. Hendrickson suffered the break during the team’s season opener but played through the injury with a bandage in the subsequent two contests. In his first season with Baltimore, Hendrickson has recorded one sack across three appearances. He tallied 81 sacks through his first nine NFL seasons and led the league with 17.5 sacks in 2024 while playing for the Cincinnati Bengals.
