Venezuela will send a delegation of 34 athletes to compete across 15 sports at the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Senegal, following a joint technical meeting between the Venezuelan Olympic Committee and the Ministry of Sport to finalize logistical preparations. The international multisport event is scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 13, 2026, marking the first time an Olympic edition will be held in an African nation.
The global gathering will bring together 2,700 athletes worldwide across 25 sports included in the official program. For this cycle, the selection process was defined through invitation criteria established by international federations, the organizing committee, and the International Olympic Committee. Venezuelan competitors will participate in athletics, badminton, 3×3 basketball, boxing, road cycling, women’s futsal, fencing, judo, beach wrestling, swimming, table tennis, triathlon, sailing, beach volleyball, and wushu.
Venezuela Coordinates Logistics for 34 High-Performance Competitors
Authorities from the Ministry of Popular Power for Sport and the Venezuelan Olympic Committee convened to coordinate logistics, equipment, and preparation schedules for the national delegation. The delegation of 34 high-performance competitors will be accompanied to Africa by a multidisciplinary team consisting of medical professionals, technicians, and specialized high-performance experts.

Venezuelan Olympic Committee Finalizes 67 Person Delegation
The competitions will be hosted across the cities of Dakar, Diamniadio, and Saly. Katiuska Santaella, secretary general of the Venezuelan Olympic Committee and head of mission, completed the pre-registration process for the athletes within the organization’s central system, finalizing a total national delegation of 67 people including athletes, coaches, and medical personnel.

Concluding the coordination session, Cardillo offered parting words to the competitors: El mayor de los éxitos a nuestros jóvenes, nuestro presente y nuestro futuro.
