A Vasco da Gama fan traveling for a match suffered a violent assault and robbery, according to a report published by UOL. The victim, identified as Cristian from Minas Gerais, was targeted alongside his girlfriend and a female friend.
Assault and Robbery Outside La Bombonera Stadium
The incident began when a group of individuals stole personal belongings from Cristian outside the stadium grounds. As the confrontation escalated, the attackers turned their focus toward the two women in the group. Cristian told UOL that four individuals surrounded his girlfriend and friend, throwing punches and physically shoving them against walls.
One of the assailants grabbed Cristian’s friend by the hair, pointed a firearm at her head, and demanded she surrender her belongings. The attackers ransacked the victims’ bags on the pavement, taking valuables before fleeing the scene. Cristian described the atmosphere as terrifying, noting that nearby onlookers and children witnessed the attack without intervening.
Loss of Match Tickets Due to Digital Entry Requirements
Following the robbery, the victims traveled to a local police station to file an official report, which UOL verified through police documentation. Because the group’s mobile phones were stolen during the mugging, they lost access to their digital match tickets, which were issued via QR code. Consequently, the robbery stripped them of both their personal property and their entry to the fixture at the stadium.
Cristian explained that he had traveled from the small town of Tocantins in the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais to attend the match. The sudden loss of their devices and tickets left the group stranded and unable to gain entry to the venue.
Aftermath and Police Report Filed in Buenos Aires
After completing the police report, the group managed to secure transportation back to their accommodation using a rideshare application. Cristian recounted the severe psychological toll of the encounter, stating that the victims suffered from acute distress and sleep deprivation in the hours following the assault. The local authorities registered the complaint as the investigation into the street robbery near the stadium perimeter continued.
