U2 to Headline Halftime at First NFL Thanksgiving Eve Game
Irish rock band U2 will headline the halftime show for the inaugural NFL Thanksgiving Eve game on November 25, 2026, when the Los Angeles Rams host the Green Bay Packers at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The performance marks the group’s celebration of 50 years together as a band and the league’s first-ever scheduling of a game on the night before the Thanksgiving holiday. The Irish rock group is the winner of 22 Grammy Awards and a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Ted Sarandos, co-CEO of Netflix, said in a statement There is a reason U2 has headlined stadiums for decades: they do not just perform, they create iconic moments that the audience remembers forever
and added We are thrilled to bring that same magic to the NFL stage on Netflix. It is going to be an unforgettable night for football fans and Netflix members all over the world

Return to the NFL Stage After Nearly 25 Years
For Bono and his bandmates, the November matchup marks their first return to an NFL halftime stage since Super Bowl XXXVI. On February 3, 2002, the group performed during the championship game between the New England Patriots and the St. Louis Rams at the Louisiana Superdome in New Orleans, playing just months after the September 11 terrorist attacks. During that performance, the band projected the names of victims on a massive screen while Bono revealed an American flag inside his jacket. That game ended in a 20-17 victory for the New England Patriots over the then-St. Louis Rams before the franchise returned to Los Angeles, decided by a 48-yard field goal from Adam Vinatieri in the final seconds.
The upcoming SoFi Stadium appearance also represents the first time the group will play a halftime show during a game involving the Rams franchise since that 2002 Super Bowl appearance. The performance arrives shortly after the release of Carnaval De Luz, the group’s first album of brand-new material in nine years.

Schedule Context and League Tradition
While Thanksgiving Day football dates back decades—with the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys usually hosting two of the three games played each Thanksgiving Day—the Wednesday night kickoff represents a brand-new programming window for the NFL. Alongside the Thanksgiving Eve fixture, Netflix’s live NFL slate includes a Christmas Day doubleheader featuring the Green Bay Packers visiting the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field, followed by the Buffalo Bills playing the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High. For the 2026 edition, Netflix will continue its Christmas Day schedule by broadcasting the Green Bay Packers visiting the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on December 25, followed by the Buffalo Bills facing the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High.
The streaming platform’s agreement with the league also encompasses a Week 18 regular-season matchup and global distribution of the NFL Honors gala during Super Bowl week. The game at SoFi Stadium on November 25 will stream live exclusively on Netflix for subscribers worldwide.
