The Baltimore Ravens defeated the Atlanta Falcons 30-23 in overtime during the Sunday Night Game of the fifth NFL regular-season week, SPORT1 reported, as backup quarterback Tyler Huntley sealed the road win after both teams lost their starting signal-callers to injuries.
Tyler Huntley Manages the Fourth-Quarter Rally
Baltimore played without star quarterback Lamar Jackson at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, turning to Huntley to engineer a late-game comeback. Trailing 23-15 with 2:25 remaining in regulation and holding two timeouts, Huntley directed a 1:51 scoring drive that covered the necessary yardage to keep the Ravens alive. He completed 24 of 32 pass attempts for 201 yards and two touchdowns on the evening.
With 40 seconds left on the clock, Huntley connected with wide receiver Devontez Walker for a 40-yard touchdown strike. Running back Derrick Henry followed by converting the crucial two-point conversion, tying the game at 23-23 and forcing the extra period.
Michael Penix Jr. Exits Late After Sustaining Rib Injury
Atlanta endured an equally turbulent finish when starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. took a heavy sack with 27 seconds remaining in regulation. Penix sustained a rib injury on the play and was initially listed as questionable to return. Although he briefly re-entered the contest for one play in the fourth quarter following a brief appearance by Tua Tagovailoa, Penix could not finish the game.

Penix finished the night completing 19 of 32 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown. Wide receiver Drake London paced the Falcons’ aerial attack with seven catches for 118 yards, while running back Bijan Robinson contributed 86 rushing yards on 17 carries alongside four receptions for 32 yards.
Overtime Decision and Standings Implications
In the extra session, Huntley capped the victory by rushing 1 yard into the end zone for the game-winning touchdown. Safety Kyle Hamilton then ended Atlanta’s final possession by intercepting Tagovailoa, who had opened the extra frame with a 20-yard completion to London before turning the ball over.

Derrick Henry anchored the Ravens’ ground game with 102 rushing yards and an 18-yard receiving touchdown. Justice Hill added 73 yards on the ground, highlighted by a 47-yard run that set up an earlier Baltimore scoring opportunity.
The result lifts Baltimore to a 4-1 record through the first five games of the season. Atlanta drops to 2-3 following the home defeat.
Next Opponents for Week 6
The Baltimore Ravens travel to face division rival Cleveland Browns in Week 6. The Atlanta Falcons return home to host the Chicago Bears in their next matchup.
